Day 7 - Antwerp to Heilloo

The drive out of Belgium was somewhat more complicated without a satnav! I was charged with the map duties, but it turns out that the names of places were different on each of the 3 maps I was using! The band were so concerned, they almost stopped watching Seinfeld. Almost.

We got to North Holland through my Ray Mears style navigation, and made it to Rowald’s house- Rowald is the singer of Sweet Empire, an excellent Dutch punkrock band, who played the show tonight. He and his girlfriend Melanie fed us an excellent curry, in their beautiful home!

We then headed to the show in Sweet Empire’s practise room in Heiloo, a very small and loud room! It was a real reminder of the energy of the underground, a long way from home!

We’re staying with Jort, also from Sweet Empire- he’s a good guy! We watched some David Attenborough before sleeping! The journey home begins…
