Day 4 - The Hague to Den Bosch

When the good lord takes me off this mortal coil, and I am naught but dust, all I can hope heaven to be would be the djs from Cafe Du Vinger playing Reagan Youth, Dag Nasty and Blitz into my everlasting ears. Gerrit and his friends put on a top notch show- mention must go to Suicidal Taxi from Rotterdam, on their fifth show! The venue itself was a throwback to the John Tallack Centre, the Cullompton Youth Club of my, well, youth! All it was missing last night was a paper mâché Satan loosely hanging from the wall. But Cafe Du Vinger had it’s own charms. It turns out I am the worst Cut Up at table football. I always thought it would be Jack.

Last night, after the show, I slept in the van, but was progressively joined by the rest of The Cut Ups. I’m not the patient man you might believe me to be when woken up at 5am, but they forgave me! We were determined to see something of The Nederlands, so got up much earlier than Crazy Arm to investigate! And what does every Englishman hope to find when abroad? Why a Princess Diana themed cafe of course! This place made an excellent spinach omelette that was tainted a little by the huge oilpainting of the Peoples Princess surrounded by smaller, yet numerous sketches of the paparazzo!

We toured the city until Darren from Crazy Arm, Seb our tour manager and driver and I were met by some guys from Amsterdam who had arranged to film Darren and I playing a song each in the back of our van. It turns out that they wanted to film us while moving! I’m not sure that Crazy Arm songs were made for roundabouts! Anyway, I believe it’s going to be online at eminorseven.com in the future!

Gerrit and Steph treated us excellently, but touring is inevitably about moving on, so here we are in Den Bosch, eastern Holland, which is one of the nicest cities I think I’ve ever seen! Tonight we stay with Norbert (he just got back from guitar teching for Steve Lukather from Toto!!!!), whose cats enjoy an 8 feet high scratching pole, with an Ewok style treehouse at the top, that they were ensconced in! This intrepid reporter will fill you in tomorrow.
